For high-pressure applications, the Welding Neck Flanges (WNRF) are often used. It’s crucial to state the purpose of the pipe when ordering a weld neck flange. This is so that the flange’s interior diameter can be matched to that of your pipe or fitting. This flange features a buttweld union with the pipe, and that joint, together with the tapered hub, make it very dishing resistant and a sturdy connection. Extreme temperature swings and settings where there may be a lot of bending and handling of the flanges make welding neck flanges desirable.
A transition from the integral flange thickness to the pipe or fitting thickness impacted by the taper is advantageous, and the long weld neck flange is easy to identify at the long-tapered hub. The weld neck flange is brought on by line expansion or other variable stresses. To ensure that there is no product flow restriction, these Stainless Steel Welding Neck Flanges are bored to match the inside diameter of the matching pipe or fitting end. This lessens erosion from the transition and prevents turbulence at the joint.
Additionally, they offer a superb Long hub stress distribution and are simple to radiograph for problem diagnosis. A single full penetration, V weld will be used to attach the Long Weld Neck flange type to a pipe or fitting (Buttweld).
